Astro Coaching: Laying the Groundwork for Success with the Full Moon in Capricorn. Exploring the Planets for Support and Challenge in our Charts

At the time of the Full Moon in Capricorn, for those of us working with Astro Coaching it is time to focus on what adjustments we are being shown are necessary to lay the groundwork for our future success. Capricorn, known for its ambition, discipline, and practicality, encourages us to take concrete steps towards our goals. This Full Moon falls in the first decan of Capricorn, a period particularly suited for establishing strong foundations. This is an introduction to our themes which we can follow up on once the Sun reaches this Decan.

You can find my full Astrological breakdown in Does your Nest meet your Needs?. If you prefer to connect through Astro Mindfulness, the sister episode is What can you learn in your Retreat Nest?

Key Aspects and Influences

  1. Moon Opposing Stellium in Cancer: The opposition to a stellium in Cancer brings an insight into the possibility of conflicting needs between our emotional, nurturing side and our cravings for security and the structured, ambitious energy of Capricorn, our drive to succeed out in the World. It's essential to balance these needs to create a rounded personality. This aspect asks us to consider how we can nurture our ambitions while also ensuring we take care of our emotional needs and relationships, and to review any adjustments that are needed and are brought to our attention at this time.

  2. Moon Trine Mars in Taurus: This trine provides a grounding influence, emphasising the importance of steady, deliberate action. Mars in Taurus encourages us to take practical steps, channelling our energy into projects and plans that have tangible results. It's a time to focus on aesthetic actions that align with our long-term goals, ensuring that every step we take is purposeful and well-considered.

  3. Moon Trine Uranus (Whole Sign): The Whole Sign Trine to Uranus brings an innovative edge, giving us a chance to embrace change and think outside the box. This aspect offers breakthroughs and sudden insights, helping us to find new and unconventional ways to lay the groundwork for our aspirations. Navigate this time by staying open to unexpected opportunities that can propel us forward.

  4. Moon Square the Nodes in Aries/Libra: This square highlights a critical point of tension between our individual desires and our relationships with others. The Aries North Node pushes us to assert our independence and pursue our personal goals, while the Libra South Node encourages harmony and cooperation. Navigating this square involves finding a balance between self-assertion and collaboration, ensuring that our path forward honors both our needs and those of our partners.

  5. Moon Sextile Saturn and Neptune: The sextile to Saturn reinforces the theme of discipline and responsibility, helping us to stay focused and committed to our goals. Neptune adds a touch of inspiration and dreaminess, blending Saturns’ practicality with vision. This combination is ideal for turning our dreams into reality, as long as we maintain a disciplined approach.

Astro Coaching Tips: Identifying Supportive and Challenging Planets

To effectively harness the energy of this Full Moon and navigate the aspects it presents, it’s helpful to look at the planets in our natal chart that can support us and those that may bring challenges. Here’s how you can use astro coaching to maximize your potential:

Supportive Planets: Jupiter and Venus

  • Jupiter: Known as the planet of generosity, luck, wisdom, faith and optimism, Jupiter in your natal (birth) chart indicates where you have opportunities for growth. During this Full Moon, identify where Jupiter is positioned in your chart (and, if you know some Astrology, how it aspects the transiting Moon). You can work with this energy by focusing on areas where you can expand your horizons, take risks, and embrace opportunities for growth. Jupiter’s influence can help you stay positive and motivated as you work towards your goals.

  • Venus: Venus symbolises love, beauty, and harmony. In your natal chart, Venus can show you where you can find support and attract positive energy. Look at the house and sign Venus occupies and note them in your work book ( as well as its aspects to other planets if you know some astrology). We can work with Venus’s energy to bring harmony to your endeavors, fostering cooperation and balancing the ambitious energy of Capricorn grace and aesthetic appreciation.
